Wesley played the lead role, Stefan Salvatore, throughout the supernatural drama.

After breaking up with Paul Wesley after four years, Phoebe Tonkin decided to start working behind the camera. She directed her first short film Furlough, at the age of 30. Her birthday and the split inspired the move from in front of to behind a camera.
