Food Network host Darnell “SuperChef” Ferguson was reportedly arrested in Louisville, Kentucky, Tuesday and is currently facing several charges including burglary, strangulation and terroristic threatening.

Darnell is also facing misdemeanor charges of assault, menacing, criminal mischief and theft-receipt of a stolen credit or debit card.

Initially, WHAS 11, a local ABC News affiliate, reported that Ferguson, 36, was booked and processed at a local corrections facility but did not offer any details as to what led to his arrest.

On Wednesday, TMZ obtained court documents that revealed the Food Network icon had been detained by police after Ferguson had reportedly broken into the house of his estranged ex-wife on Jan. 2

According to the victim, Ferguson began punching walls before proceeding to lunge at her and hold her by the throat.

Ferguson’s ex revealed that she eventually lost consciousness and when she came to, the man ripped off her shorts before allegedly claiming that she belonged to him and no one else.

According to his ex, Ferguson promptly left the house after stealing several credit cards.

The Post reached out to the Louisville police department for comment.

Appearing before a judge, Ferguson pleaded not guilty and was given a bond set at $10,000.

News of Ferguson’s arrest comes after it was revealed that his latest business venture, Tha Drippin Crab, was forced to close its doors in 2022.

Ferguson first rose to fame as a Food Network regular who was described as a “celebrity chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur.”

While attending Sullivan University, Ferguson was selected as one of 19 students to cook for Team USA during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

This is reportedly not the first time that Ferguson has had trouble with the law.

The Sun reported that, since his return to the US, the TV host has been to jail six times prior to the latest incident on drug-related charges.

After vowing to never return to jail, the TV personality managed to open up his own restaurant in 2012.

Three years later in 2015, Ferguson’s TV career began when he appeared on a local news segment before being invited to appear on “The Rachael Ray Show,” where he spoke about his journey from selling drugs to owning restaurants.

Ferguson is currently scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 17.
